How did your adventure with McKinsey start and develop?
I was searching for a good career opportunity in Poland, and I got the chance to work for McKinsey.
I started 1.5 years ago supporting the French office as a financial analyst. After few months I began taking part in broader projects within Western Europe.
What responsibilities and challenges does your role involve?
Financial analysts provide support in producing, analyzing, and understanding different key performance indicators (KPIs) in order to measure the activity of a cell or an office. In our position, it's very important to remain open to changes as they occur very often. Sometimes it's difficult to work with many different constituents. They are not all aware of each other, and they don't always understand when they are not the very first priority.
What do like the most about working at McKinsey's EMEA Shared Services?
We have a young, dynamic center in Poznan, so there is a lot of energy for team-building activities, firm events, or other initiatives.
The most rewarding thing about my role is when you know that what you are doing has a real impact on a decision making process. Your insights can really be the source of some changes.
Can you share an interesting fact or observation about the local office and your role in it?
Twice I was able to take a part in the football tournament organized by the firm. (As a team we scored with second and third place).
