How did your adventure with McKinsey start and develop?
I studied tourism in Poznan but, after my studies, I wanted to change my direction and work with languages – especially with German as I grew up in Germany. A recruiting agency recommended me for a job here and I was invited for interviews.
Even though I had never had experience with graphics, the training team helped me prepare in a short time to the role of Visual Graphics Specialist. From the very beginning I enjoyed being here and now, after almost two years, I still come to work with pleasure.
What responsibilities and challenges does your role involve?
In my day-to-day work I create business presentations for our German-speaking consultants. The requests I receive from them vary a lot. My challenge is to master complex graphical tasks and work under time pressure. Furthermore, I have to keep an eye on the language in the presentations.
Additionally, I work as a backup for the intake team who coordinates the incoming requests. It’s very interesting for me to observe how such a worldwide company as McKinsey operates and, at the same time, keep in touch with different locations and people.
What do you like the most about working at McKinsey?
The most important for me are the people. It’s a pleasure to work with them together and to get to know different cultures. We have such a positive and collaborative atmosphere in the office! I also like the fact that my work isn’t monotonous and I can be creative.
Can you share an interesting story about your local office?
It is amazing to meet so many interesting and intelligent people and to observe how they develop and grow in such a large company. I am happy to be a part of this diverse environment.
