Project Finance Controller

What you will do
You will provide support operations for consulting projects and will be involved in and responsible for processes such as reporting and controlling, communication with project management, risk and issue management as well as financial management and reporting.
In this role you will be responsible for opening/closing Client Engagement Reports (CERs), Prospective Engagement (PE) codes, and client codes. You will review CERs for appropriate pricing, billing schedule, fee and expense budget, and investment amount and categorize CERs with appropriate team bundle coding. PE codes will be reviewed by you on a monthly basis for accuracy. You will also process monthly adjustments and transfers to client codes as appropriate.
Another area of your operations will be to assist Partners and their Assistants to ensure client invoices are sent to clients on schedule (you may often send invoices directly to clients if needed), work with client Accounts Payable departments to research payment issues, and ensure that non-standard arrangements (client investments, satisfaction holdbacks, and deferred billing arrangements) are accounted for properly on CERs.
Additionally you will review client codes with WIP (Work In Progress) balances on a monthly basis, stay apprised of Master Service Agreements and their impact on billing and WIP management and calculate split writeoffs, and notify relevant offices in appropriate month. You will monitor nonstandard WIPs in order to recover revenue if credit hold allows and assist in developing and running pricing reports, perform year-end and other occasional analyses as requested and support ad hoc reporting and analyses.
- University degree, preferably in Finance & Accounting
- 3+ years of professional experience in Finance & Accounting with knowledge of project accounting and accounts receivable
- Excellent verbal and written language skills in English (B2/C1), knowledge of French would be an asset
- Experience in supporting management and leadership by providing insight, analysis and financial results for review
- Solid MS Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
